He played every game for the next 14 years, not stopping until he had played in 2,130 consecutive games, which broke the prior record of 1,307 by a whole lot of games. Gehrig’s record stood for 56 years. Most baseball fans will remember the iconic scene of Cal Ripken, Jr. saluting the Camden Yards crowd as he walked around the stadium when he broke the record on September 6, 1995. \r\n \r\nOn May 25, 1935, Babe Ruth hit a home run for the 714th time. His record stood for almost 40 years. Who can ever forget the Atlanta Braves fans running onto the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium field to congratulate Hank Aaron as he rounded the bases after hitting his 715th home run on April 8, 1974.  \r\n \r\nThese are two of the most memorable record-breaking moments in sports history. Sports fans live for these moments.  \r\n \r\nOne more is coming.  \r\n \r\nIn 1989, Kareem Abdul Jabbar scored his 38,387th point. In the 76-year history of the NBA and in the 33 years since he sunk that final basket, no player—not Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, Wilt Chamberlain, or anyone else—has been able to pass Kareem. Until now.  \r\n \r\nIn the 2022-23 season, LeBron James will likely break one of sports’ most iconic records. He currently stands at 37,062 points. He needs 1,326 points to become the all-time leader. LeBron scored 1,695 points in the 2021-22 season, so even if his production falls, he should be able to pass Kareem next season and join Ripken, Aaron, and a select few others in sports like Nadal, Dimaggio, Gretzky, and Brady who hold records that might never be broken. Imagine the roars of the crowd.   \r\n \r\nAnd imagine what the scoring record will do for his cards as his face blankets global media. In the trading card industry, no modern card holds more prestige than an RPA. And no manufacturer designed them better than Upper Deck. When they launched their inaugural Exquisite cards in 2003, they ignited the modern card market and raised the bar for every other manufacturer. At $500 per pack, fans did a “Whatchu Talkin’ Bout Willis?” double take. Little did they know that they had a shot at a seven-figure card in 99 of those packs. This phenomenal example hits the Premier Auction with extremely well-preserved black edges, a roaring signature, and a patch that could make a grown man cry. One of the most prestigious card treasures to ever hit the PWCC marketplace, this card will make national news after it sells. A rare opportunity to own a King of a card starts now.","serial":"0011775853","isComplete":true,"paymentStatus":"PAID","itemVariantId":"bbfc75d9-8d21-5828-857f-f02e99b3cfed","listingUuid":"235b5076-6f25-11ed-921a-0a58a9feac02","purchasedQuantity":0}
