Nearly half of the entire set has been assessed at the ‘MINT’ level by PSA with most representing the finest copies ever graded. Never could Topps have appreciated how their design to this issue would set afire a new brand of detail oriented collecting. What’s transpired over the last 40 years is something largely unique to the hobby, where rarity was attached to almost entirely to card condition. While not altogether rare off the factory floor, high grade examples of 1971 Topps are finally being appreciated for their inherent rarity and prices have risen to reflect increased demand. This set seems destined to only continue that progress as the overall scarcity continues to be realized and 1970s baseball overall continues it’s upwards trend. Offered here is a masterful assembly which ranks among the hobby’s very finest with an approximate PSA Registry ranking of 8.4.
